Title: Trifle earnings of a life
People engage themselves in all sorts of tasks in order to survive and make a living. For many generations, families in Dinajpur have been making sweetened rice balls (also known as Jhuri Moah) for a living. They start making rice flour from dawn and much of their day is spent in making Jhuri Moah that they will sell. Many of these women workers have eye problems from exposing themselves to smoke and heat for long hours. Even after working so hard, these communities of Moah makers struggle to make ends meet. Story prepared by Golapi Roy, DrikNEWS Correspondent, Dinajpur, June 2012.
