Title: Tragic lives of tea labourers of Sylhet

Nearly 150 years ago, British government brought men and women from a number of states of India and trained them to work in tea states they established in Moulavibazar and Sylhet. Four generations passed since then and these labourers are still cage din invisible chains. Tea estate owners’ fate changed through hardships of these labourers, but these labourers . The daily pay of these labourers is less than $1. They do not even get adequate food, shelter or education. A family gets a single room in the residential ‘labour line’ at each tea estate. If they shift to other garden, they will lose the room. In this fear of losing shelter, tea labourers work and live in the same place throughout their lives.
